The Mill House

The Mill House originally known as Treknow Mill dates back to 1760 and was a working mill until the late 1930's. It briefly became a private residence until 1945, when it was converted into a guesthouse. In 1960 the main building was refurbished and extended before becoming a public house for the first time. Since then it has been gradually upgraded by a number of different owners The Mill House offers visitors tranquility and comfort.

The Mill itself it a charming stone building with a bar, dining room and residents lounge all of which benefit from log fires. The traditional beamed bar, which has fine Delabole flagstones and informal furnishings is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a drink and listen to occasional live music.

The dining room, positioned alongside the delightful millstream is light and airy during the day yet intimate and romantic at night. Menus are changed regularly and concentrate on the use of the best fresh fish, meat, produce and other ingredients all sourced locally.

There are eight elegant bedrooms all with en suite facilities, telephone and colour television, offering beautiful views across the valley or gardens.

The Inn and restaurant are open all year and in fine weather lunches, drinks and barbecues can be enjoyed outside on the attractive split level terraces.

(v) Our restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the Inn and is open nightly for 'a la Carte' dinner, reservations are strongly advised.
