Our food just gets better and better….. after moving into the hotel in 2003 we decided that not only did we need to update the surroundings, but the French style food needed to move onto new dimensions. Therefore we mix old and new, French and traditional British to leave you with a mouth watering selection that we are sure you will find a dish to remember.
The produce….. is all locally sourced. Our meat is from Button Meats of Michealstow who use all locally reared Cornish cattle. The fish is from Bude and when the seas are too rough locally we use fish from the south coast. The fruit and vegetables are from DF Fruit supplies of Bodmin and when local seasonal produce is available, we endeavour to use it no matter what the cost. All our sauces, jams, chutneys, pickles, breads and chocolates are made here so if you particularly like something, we’re happy to check with the chef if he has any available for sale!
And last but certainly not least…… THE AWARDS…. In 2004 we were awarded the RAC 2 blue ribbons and this year we won the coveted 2AA Rosette Award. Our focus now is to keep improving in all directions. A little bit of history in the making….. BBC Changing rooms designed the restaurant in 2004 after the Boscastle floods. It was to be one of the final Changing Rooms projects and an experience that we will never forget. Graham Wynne was the designer in charge with help from Anna Ryder Richardson and Gordon Whistance ~ not forgetting the infamous Laurence Llewellyn Bowen ~ a regular diner at The Wellington.
What a perfect setting for a celebration! ………. No matter what the event we can assure you that every detail will be covered as if it were our own celebration. From organising flowers with the local florist, gifts of home made chocolates, buffets of pasties to sushi, champagne toasts and a private bar or a garden party in the beautiful Cornish sunshine ~ our destination and staff are sure to make yours and your guests day as memorable Boscastle day you could wish for. Why not spend the night ~ Honeymoon suite available and discounts for your guests accommodation.
We can cater for any events for up to 40 people for a sit down meal or 60 people for a buffet. Our entertainments licence means that you or we can provide everything from an elegant harpist, disco, bands or just a lucky chimney sweep to keep your guests amused until midnight.
