Lilac cottage is a traditional, beamed Cornish cottage in the hamlet of Trenale. It is located above Tintagel, with views from the cottage to Port Isaac Bay. It is just three miles from Boscastle and two miles from the surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand.
Downstairs is a comfortable lounge/dining room with a television/DVD player and a wood-burning stove; and a separate, modern kitchen. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom/toilet. The Bedrooms contain respectively one double bed and two single beds; the cottage sleeps upto four.
There is a small patio garden with (in summer) garden furniture and a barbeque; and private, off-road parking.
The cottage has books and games and a full set of maps and guides; and it is well-placed for exploring the rugged north coast of Cornwall. From the cottage, and making use of local buses, we have walked the North Cornwall Coast Path in stages: Morwenstow - Bude - Widemouth - Crackington Haven - Boscastle - Tintagel - Trebarwith Strand - Port Isaac - Polzeath - Rock - Padstow - Harlyn - Porthcothan - Watergate - Newquay. We've also cycled the Camel Trail: Padstow - Wadebridge - Bodmin. If you want to travel further - or it's too wet to walk - then the Eden Project , the living museum at Morwellham Quay and National Trust prpperties at Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Trerice are all within easy reach.
