Tintagel Old Post Office

This 14thC medieval longhouse in the centre of Tintagel is one of the Trust's most delightful small buildings. The ancient undulating roof and massive chimney stack lend character to a fascinating building. The central hall is open to the great oak trusses and slates of the roof. A pleasing collection of country furniture, fine needlework samplers and a charming garden all add interest. During Victorian times one room was used as the letter-receiving office for the village and so the house became known as the Old Post Office.

Cornwall at War Museum

The DAVIDSTOW AIRFIELD & CORNWALL AT WAR MUSEUM has a wide remit, dedicated primarily to RAF Davidstow moor from its opening on 1st October 1942 until its closure at the end of 1945. It also covers all the other airfields along the North Cornwall coast, the Royal Navy, British Army and the RAF in and around the county, the Army civilian services, home front etc. The area is still a military training area so that gives us scope to bring in the post-war period.
